That sounds excellent, Paul. I'm not centrally involved, but Simon is the coordinator for CODATA of this initiative. Hope all is well on your end too!

Hi Asha, Simon and Paul,
I hope you are doing well.
Thank you and CODATA for your leadership.
I would like to help Data Together COVID-19 Appeal and Actions<https://codata.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Data-Together-COVID-19-Statement-FINAL.pdf>.
Perhaps my best form of assistance would be in helping with science diplomacy to transform data into evidence for informed decisions, operating short-term to long-term, in view of the decisionmaking institutions with:
* Governance Mechanisms (laws, agreements and policies as well as regulatory strategies, including insurance, at diverse jurisdictional levels); and
* Built Infrastructure (fixed, mobile and other assets, including communication, research, observing, information and other systems that require technology plus investment).
Data are fundamental to address the immediate urgencies at security time scales as well as the urgencies across generations that will arise post-COVID-19 for our shared sustainability at local-global levels. As introduced with science diplomacy training through the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) - informed decisionmaking skills, methods and theory are available to train and apply, transforming research into actions "to service the new reality of data-driven science."
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
I hope you and those closest are doing well. Stay healthy!!!

[Image removed by sender. https://codata.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/rda-codata-wds-gofair-1024x1010.jpg]CODATA together with GO FAIR, RDA, and WDS (the four major international data organisations), are pleased to outline their joint commitment to work together to optimise the global research data ecosystem and to identify the opportunities and needs that will trigger federated infrastructures to service the new reality of data-driven science.<https://codata.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Data-Together-Final-Version-March-2020-FINAL.pdf>
A first concrete example of this is the following 'Data Together COVID-19 Appeal and Actions<https://codata.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Data-Together-COVID-19-Statement-FINAL.pdf>'
The COVID-19 pandemic presents a major test for our science system and for our research and data infrastructures. These infrastructures, such as open science clouds and data commons, must serve the needs of science, policy, and humanity not only in 'normal times', but also in times of crisis by providing controlled access to quality data in real-time and at scale for a range of scientific- and policy-related responses.
The Data Together organisations are jointly working on the following activities and invite all to contribute:
1. Data Together-GO FAIR Virus Outbreak Data Network<https://www.go-fair.org/implementation-networks/overview/vodan/> (VODAN)
2. The Data Together-RDA COVID-19 Working Group<https://www.rd-alliance.org/groups/rda-covid19>
3. CODATA 'Making Data Work for Cross-Domain Grand Challenges'<https://codata.org/initiatives/strategic-programme/decadal-programme/> for launch in 2021
