Last week's article from PNAS
<https://www.pnas.org/content/early/2020/01/07/1910837117> on how Salk
Institute scientists scale cyborgs reconfigurable organisms using 3D
printers and this item

Scientific American might be of interest to some in the group.

The optimistic view from Tufts' Michael Levin: “We can imagine many useful
applications of these living robots that other machines can’t do...”
somewhat alarmingly offset by the enormity of the implications surrounding
this technology: “That fear (killer machines in the “Terminator” movies or
the replicants from the world of “Blade Runner") is not unreasonable,”
Levin said. “When we start to mess around with complex systems that we
don’t understand, we’re going to get unintended consequences.”
