Dear colleague,

We would like to encourage you to submit an abstract to the following session of the Fall 2018 American Geophysical Union meeting in Washington, D.C. (December 10-14):
Innovative Data-Driven Platforms for Complex Earth & Space Science Applications (IN Session ID# 50145)
https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm18/prelim.cgi/Session/50145

The goal of this session is to discuss different and innovative approaches with respect to data distribution platforms and related architectures in Earth and Space Sciences in the context of huge data volumes. There will also be invited speakers in this session.

"Achieving research progress in Earth and Space sciences depends on managing huge volumes of data for pre-processing, modeling, analysis and visualization. These data and processing requirements routinely stretch systems, service providers and users to their limits. In response to these requirements, research platforms need to provide users with innovative services, front-ends and targeted products. They also need to provide users with the means to develop new services transparently reaching across infrastructure and data boundaries. Architectures and platforms enabling this transition should move data processing and analysis away from the user and closer to the data, while allowing users to choose between different levels of control.

This session will welcome presentations on innovative approaches to the scientific data life cycle in the context of huge data volumes and complex infrastructure interactions. It encourages presentations on architectures, workflow systems, provenance, front-ends and services designed to enable large-scale data-driven research products."

We look forward to a stimulating set of talks and discussions, and hope that you will consider participating. Please note that the strict deadline for abstract submission is Wednesday, 1 August 23:59 EDT.

To submit an abstract to this session:
https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm18/in/papers/index.cgi?sessionid=50145
