[CODATA-international] Two more keynote speakers have been announced for CODATA 2017: Catriona MacCallum and Nikita Shamgunov

The organisers and programme committee are very pleased to announce
that Catriona MacCallum, newly appointed Director of Open Science, Hindawi
and Nikita Shamgunov, co-founder of MemSQL will give keynote presentations
at the CODATA 2017 International Conference ‘Global Challenges and
Data-Driven Science’, 8-13 October, Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

*Catriona MacCallum*

Catriona has more than 19 years experience in scholarly publishing and 14
years in Open Access publishing. She worked initially for Elsevier as
Editor and Managing Editor of *Trends in Ecology & Evolution*. In 2003 she
joined PLOS as they launched their first journal. As well as being a Senior
Editor on *PLOS Biology*, she was involved in the planning stages of *PLOS
ON*E and the PLOS Community Journals and also acted as a Consulting Editor
on *PLOS ONE*. Her most recent position before joining Hindawi in July 2017
was as Director of Advocacy. She took a sabbatical in 2007-2008 as an
invited Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Berlin and has a
Ph.D. from Edinburgh University on the evolutionary ecology and genetics of
speciation. She is currently Chair of the OASPA Policy Committee and a
member of the Advisory Boards of OpenAire and the Royal Society
(Publishing), the UUK Open Access Efficiencies Working Group and RCUK’s
Open Access Practitioner Group.



*Nikita Shamgunov*
Nikita Shamgunov co-founded MemSQL *http://www.memsql.com/
<http://www.memsql.com/>* and has served as CTO since inception. Prior to
co-founding the company, Nikita worked on core infrastructure systems at
Facebook. He served as a senior database engineer at Microsoft SQL Server
for more than half a decade. Nikita holds a bachelor’s, master’s and
doctorate in computer science, has been awarded several patents and was a
world medalist in ACM programming contests.
