The international series of workshops on the practice of data citation as
part of the activities of the CODATA Task Group on Data Citation is
continuing with upcoming workshops in Helsinki and Taipei.
*Nordic Data Citation Workshop, Helsinki, 23 Nov*
CODATA, the Finnish Committee for Research Data (FCRD) and the Finnish
Open Science and ResearchInitiative http://openscience.fi/ are
co-organising a Nordic CODATA Data Citation Workshop on 23 November 2016.
The workshop is organized during the Nordic Open Science and Research Forum
2016 http://avointiede.fi/foorumi, a pan-Nordic discussion event for
researchers and research policy makers alike.
Unfortunately, attendance for the event is already fully booked, but the
programme will be of interest http://www.fcrd.fi/activities/data-citation/
*Data Curation and Citation Workshop, Taipei, 5 Dec*
The 2016 Data Curation and Citation Workshop in Taiwan will be held on 5
December and will take place at the National Taiwan University Library. As
with some of the other workshops in this international series, the subject
of Data Curation is also emphasized. It is felt by the organisers that
given the current stage of development in Taiwan, research libraries and
specially data librarians form a major audience for the issues related to
the production, management, curation and use of research datasets.
Speakers include Christine Borgman (University of California, Los Angeles),
Louise Corti (UKDA), Chiu-Chuang Chou (Senior Data Librarian, University
of Wisconsin-Madison), Prof. SHAO Guangzhao (Ocean University), Dr. Wang
Yuhuang (Central Research Institute), Prof. Lin Qixiu (Director of the
Department of Library and Information Science) and Prof. Liao Peishan
(Academician of the Academia Sinica).
The programme is available at http://www.codata.org/task-
citation-workshops/taiwan-data-citation-workshop-2016 and at
