a creative chain reaction that triggered an explosion of knowledge. The modern open science movement is a broadening of the horizons of openness rather than its discovery. In part it is about relations between scientists and in part with society.

to a mode of production where participation is less restricted (e.g. open source development). Openness neither necessarily leads to inclusiveness nor equity, even though it may be used to invoke such ideals (e.g. open government). The trend in prepending
"open" to an existing term so as to create the allure of openness in an ambiguous combined word, e.g. open research and open science, I think, is a problem we now have.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
