Here are my 2 cents worth</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Generally when data are de-identified, there is a loss of detail as there are various suppression technics that are used. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">A general overview can be found at <a href="https://www.ihsn.org/sites/default/files/resources/IHSN-WP005.pdf" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.ihsn.org/sites/default/files/resources/IHSN-WP005.pdf</a></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Since that paper was written, there has been progress made in software to assist in the creation of anonymous files and an increasing use of remote dat access. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">One example is from Statistics Canada <a href="https://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/rtra/rtra" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" fg_scanned="1" class="">https://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/rtra/rtra</a></div><div><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">A third approach that is used is to establish data enclaves.
