The rise of Data Colonialism raises many ethical questions:


For example, Is publicly funded Earth Observation (EO) data now being used for the economic benefit and profits of a few Billionaire Vendor Owners and shareholders of a handful of big data platforms ? If so, why?


What is the impact of EO Data Colonialism for countries in Africa and for the people of Africa?


Who owns Africa Geo Data Portals?  What are the costs to be paid per year to the GIS Vendor Platform Owners by the Governments of all countries in Africa and citizens in a few years' time for accessing EO data and insights?
