[CODATA-international] United Nations Open Science Conference

Good morning,

Maybe it is time to consider the few truly examples of "open Science"
which are the "eJournals Delivery Service (eJDS)" from the Abdus Salam
International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste (Italy) and
the Sci-Hub by Alexandra Elbakian (which a world wide service) in
Azerbaijan.
About the eJDS I can explain in detail, since I was the one who made it
work, in collaboration with Enrique Canessa and Clement Onime, who are
still working at ICTP (I am retired). It was eventually recognized in 2021
with the Spirit of Abdus Salam Award.

As far as Open Databases, it is an absolute necessity that they become
open source for research. There is an excellent database called
EPILEPSIAE, but it is very expensive, almost impossible if you are in a
developing country.

Sincerely
      Hilda Cerdeira
