*SciDataCon 2022*

SciDataCon 2022 will run onsite in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and virtually
20-23 June 2022.

SciDataCon is *the* international conference for scrutiny and discussion of
the frontier issues of data in research. The scope of SciDataCon covers
policy matters and the place of data in the scientific endeavour and
scholarly communications; the opportunities of the data revolution for the
global research enterprise; innovations in data science and data
stewardship; and the challenge of developing a sustainable data ecosystem,
including the role of education and capacity building. Since 2016,
SciDataCon has been organised as an integral part of International Data
Week.

SciDataCon is organised by the two data bodies of the International Science
Council (ISC): CODATA (the ISC’s Committee on Data)
<https://www.codata.org/> and the WDS (the ISC’s World Data System
International Programme Office) <https://www.worlddatasystem.org/>.

SciDataCon 2022 comprises sessions covering the following themes:

   - Data to Improve our World: The role of data to address global
   challenges
   - The State of Open Science Globally
   - Research Transparency, Accountability, and Reproducibility
   - Data, Research and Industry: The Interface between Data-intensive
   Research and Innovation
   - Science and Society: Engagement and participation
   - Empowering and Enabling Society: Data Science and Stewardship

*Registration for IDW 2022*

Recognizing that COVID guidelines and travel restrictions are relaxing in
the Republic of Korea, we want to ensure you have enough time to plan your
travel and have access to the most cost-effective registration fees to
attend IDW 2022. It has therefore been decided to extend the Early Bird
Registration to 31 May.

See detailed information about ticketing and fees
<https://idw2022.org/bbs/content.php?co_id=ticket_info_en&lang=English> for
both onsite and virtual participation in IDW 2022. Should you have
questions about or need assistance with the IDW registration, please
contact registrations at internationaldataweek.org.

The travel and safety procedures in the Republic of Korea, are once again
being updated as of 23 May.

Fully vaccinated travellers can already now enter the country without
having to quarantine. However, overseas visitors will still be required to
submit a pre-departure negative PCR or antigen test certificate to Q-CODE
and take a PCR test within three days after arrival in the Republic of
Korea.

Discounted hotel rates of AccorHotels brands such as Novotel, Ibis Styles,
and Novotel Suites are now secured for IDW 2022 attendees. Located in the
centre of Seoul, these hotels are the largest in Asia offering everything a
customer needs, from leisure to business.

For your convenience, all onsite conference sessions will be held at Seoul
Dragon City, South Korea’s first-ever lifestyle hotel-complex. The venue
features the widest range of convention space in Seoul, multiple
restaurants and bars, and the amazing Sky Bridge.

The complex is located next to Yongsan Station, a major transportation hub
in Seoul, where railway and three subway lines run, and offers convenient
access to central business and leisure districts.

For more information on travel arrangements including visa, COVID-19 test
requirements and cancellation requests, please visit: idw2022.org

We hope to see you at IDW 2022 in Seoul or virtually!
