The DRUM TG <https://codata.org/initiatives/task-groups/drum/>, in
collaboration with the CIPM SI Digital Framework TG and the BIPM are please
to announce the upcoming “Units Summit” @ SciDataCon2022 (one of the two
conferences comprising International Data Week <https://idw2022.org/>),
June 20th – 23rd. The idea behind the summit is to make the community
aware of the international efforts currently underway around creating a
digital unit of measurement ecosystem to enable FAIR units and thus FAIR
data.

The summit consists of three 90 min sessions at SciDataCon 2022 (part of
International Data Week (IDW)) each focusing on different aspects of the
efforts. These are:

   - June 20th 02:30–04:00 UTC: Interoperable Units of Measurement:
   International Developments
   <https://www.scidatacon.org/IDW-2022/sessions/426/>, organized by Dr.
Robert Hanisch, Chair of the DRUM TG
   - June 21st 00:30–02:00 UTC: Digital Unit Representation Systems and
   their Use in Infrastructure
   <https://www.scidatacon.org/IDW-2022/sessions/449/>, organized by Dr.
Stuart Chalk, Secretary of the DRUM TG
   - June 22nd 07:00–08:30 UTC: BIPM – Developments Towards Interoperable
   Metrology <https://www.scidatacon.org/IDW-2022/sessions/457/>, Dr.
Susanne Picard, Coordinator of the KCDB, BIPM

To attend these sessions in the “Units Summit” please register for
International Data Week <https://idw2022.org/>. Sessions will be recorded
(but not available publicly for two months after the meeting), so if one of
these sessions does not fit your time zone you may ‘attend’ at your
convenience.

In addition to the sessions above, the DRUM TG is holding a “Units Summit
Recap Meeting” after the first two sessions, but before the third one on
June 21st at 13:00–15:00 UTC (timed to suit a European audience for whom
the first two sessions are at difficult times). To attend the “Units Summit
Recap Meeting” please register here:
