Dear colleagues,

I would like to inform you that the Data for Policy 2022
Conference: Ecosystems of Innovation and Virtual-Physical Interactions will
take place in December 2022 in Hong Kong, Seattle, and Brussels. The
Asia-Pacific conference will be hosted at the Hong Kong University of
Science and Technology on December 5, 2022.
https://dataforpolicy.org/data-for-policy-2022/

The call for papers is now open for full papers, extended abstracts, and
panel proposals. A wide range of issues concerning data and policy will be
discussed at the conference. I would be particularly keen to invite
research contributions to explore the role of data in facilitating
innovation and addressing sustainability challenges, including climate
change, public health, and the circular economy, and implications for
public policy and institutional design.

The deadline for submissions is June 1, 2022. Please let me know if you
have any questions.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
YARIME Masaru

The Data for Policy conference series is the premier global forum for
multiple disciplinary and cross-sector discussions around the theories,
applications and implications of data science innovation in governance and
the public sector. Its associated journal, *Data & Policy*
<https://dataforpolicy.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0e48a758fb1eccb009ec5c754&id=0d64dead14&e=f6c656789c>,
published by Cambridge University Press has quickly established itself as a
major venue for publishing research in the field of data-policy
interactions. Data for Policy is a non-profit initiative, registered as a
community interest company in the UK, supported by sustainer partners
Cambridge University Press, the Alan Turing Institute and the Office for
National Statistics.

The seventh edition of the conference will embrace a hybrid
physical-virtual format, with one-day, in-person conferences held in three
regions: Asia (Hong Kong), America (Seattle) and Europe (Brussels). The
Conference Regional Committees and their chairs Masaru Yarime, Leigh
Anderson and Francesco Mureddu invite paper and panel session proposals at
the conference, to be also considered for publication in Data & Policy
(subject to peer review). There are six broad, interdisciplinary,
cross-sectoral areas of interest, which form the established standard
tracks of the conference, and 5 special tracks. In addition to these, and
reflecting its three-regions model this year, the Data for Policy 2022
conference highlights “Ecosystems of innovation and virtual-physical
interactions” as its theme. Distinct geopolitical and virtual-physical
ecosystems are emerging as everyday operations and important socio-economic
decisions are increasingly outsourced to digital systems.
