CODATA has agreed a Memorandum of Understanding
<https://codata.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Memorandum-of-Understanding-BIPM-SIGNED.pdf>
with
the BIPM (Bureau International des Poids et Mésures)
<https://www.bipm.org/en/home>. It was signed
<https://www.bipm.org/en/-/2021-10-11-mou-bipm-codata> by Dr Martin Milton,
Director of the BIPM and by Dr Simon Hodson, Executive Director of CODATA
on 11 October 2021.

The BIPM hosts the CODATA Task Group on Fundamental Constant’s portal on
the BIPM website <https://www.bipm.org/en/hosting/codata-tgfc>. The public
section of this website provides information about the activities of the
CODATA-TGFC including meeting dates, meeting minutes, and membership.

The CODATA-TGFC
<https://codata.org/initiatives/data-science-and-stewardship/fundamental-physical-constants/>
assists
the BIPM in its role related to the development of the SI, which is now
largely based on fixed numerical values of fundamental constants. The
CODATA-TGFC promotes the consistent use of the SI, in particular by
expressing the recommended values of the adjusted constants in SI units.
Similarly, the BIPM promotes consistent use of the latest
CODATA recommended values of the basic constants.

Pursuant to this MoU a representative nominated by the CIPM will be invited
to attend meetings of the CODATA-TGFC as the BIPM liaison. The BIPM becomes
a partner member of CODATA and will have the right to send a voting
delegate to the CODATA General Assembly. Likewise representatives of the
CODATA-TGFC will be invited to attend the meetings of the Consultative
Committee for Units (CCU).
The CODATA DRUM TG <https://codata.org/initiatives/task-groups/drum/> is
also contributing to the Digital SI
<https://www.bipm.org/fr/bipm-workshops/digital-si> including quarterly
meetings of the CIPM’s Digital SI Expert Group and CODATA DRUM. CODATA and
ISC are also contributing to the development of a Joint Statement
of Intent: On the digital transformation in the international scientific
and quality infrastructure.

Thanks,
Asha
