Dear colleagues,

I would like to let you know that the AI for Social Good Summit will hold a
series of panel discussions and policy briefings starting from October 22,
organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and
the Pacific (UNESCAP), Association of Pacific-Rim Universities (APRU), and
Google in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation.
https://apru.org/aiforsocialgood/

Researchers and practitioners in academia, industry, and the public sector
in Asia-Pacific will explore what lasting impact AI will generate and how
we can strengthen our accountable governance of AI for social good.

In particular, on November 3, we will discuss opportunities and challenges
in facilitating access to data to address social development issues while
addressing risks and concerns over privacy, bias, safety, and fairness.

Everyone is welcome to join us.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
YARIME Masaru

Artificial Intelligence (AI) demonstrates immense potential in bringing
about economic and social benefits by revolutionizing areas such as
communications, healthcare, public services, finance, and education.
However, the benefits of AI’s transformative potential are at risk of being
offset by a list of challenges.

The AI for Social Good Summit is a regional gathering of experts and
practitioners in artificial intelligence and governance. It aims to bridge
the AI knowledge gap between academics and decision-makers in the
Asia-Pacific region and to facilitate the creation of sensible AI policies.
