[CODATA-international] International Data Week – Deadlines are Fast Approaching

It’s hard to believe, but International Data Week (IDW) 2018 is only five
weeks away!  Hopefully, you will be joining us in beautiful Botswana for a
data-filled week of great conversation, networking and collaboration. If
you aren’t sure yet, don’t be deterred, there is still time to book your
travel and register for the event.

Here are a few reminders about deadlines and other important information:

   *The organizing committee of International Data Week 2018 and the
   Botswana Ministry of Tertiary Education, Research Science and Technology
   are pleased and honoured to announce that the Botswana President - His
   Excellency Mokgweetsi Masisi - will formally open International Data Week
   and will deliver the opening keynote address for the week-long conference
   beginning on 5 November 2018 in Gaborone, Botswana.*

   *The deadline for early bird registration is this Sunday, 30 September.*
   *Register by then to secure the most inexpensive fee to attend the
   meeting.*

   advised by the local organisers that if you attempt to register for IDW
   using a credit card and your transaction is not approved, it is likely that
   you are using a card that is not enrolled in 3D Security, which requires
   processing through sending a one-time pin. In the case of this occurring to
   you, the local organisers advise that you follow up with your card/issuer
   for corroboration of this possibility. For this payment gateway in use, it
   is a standard security feature. If no card alternatives exist supporting
   this security feature for you, a bank transfer may be the best option
   (details given in the payment option step of the registration process).*
