In 2016, the Science International partners ICSU, IAP, ISSC and TWAS are seeking endorsements for the set of principles set out in the accord "Open Data in a Big Data World", available from www.icsu.org/science-international/accord. The accord grew out of a multi-nation collaborative process in fall 2015, and was introduced at Science Forum South Africa in December.
We ask the international scientific community to put the issues of open data and big data front and centre as an issue that the scientific community must deal with through constructive collaboration, in order to maximise the benefit from the data revolution in both developed and developing countries.

We are seeking endorsements from science, education and policy institutions, universities and libraries as well as commercial and non-commercial publishers of scientific literature. The deadline for endorsements is 1 May 2016.

Please note that at this time, we are not seeking endorsements from individuals. However, if you would like to help support the principles of open data, we encourage you to explore whether it would be possible for your organization to endorse them. If you have any questions, please e-mail open.data at science-international.org
