CODATA is inviting applications to join the Cross-Domain Interoperability
Framework (CDIF) Working Group (WG) or Advisory Group (AG). Please express
your interest by completing the application here before the 30 September
deadline

.

The Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework (CDIF)
<https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.11236871> is a major output from the WorldFAIR
project <https://worldfair-project.eu/>, and has been published as an
initial draft with the completion of project deliverables. CDIF is a set of
implementation recommendations, based on profiles of common, domain-neutral
metadata standards which are aligned to work together to support core
functions required by FAIR. CDIF will continue to be developed and
maintained, based on feedback from implementers and the broader FAIR
community.

In the three months since it was released, the CDIF has been very
well-received and has inspired a lot of interest. Downloads of the report
are approaching 2,000. It has been praised as a practical guide to
implementing metadata for a repository or data services with cross-domain
use cases in a way that aligns with good practice and the FAIR principles.
Through the rigorous work undertaken in WorldFAIR, the CDIF aligns with
observable good practice and will save implementers much time.

The initial profiles and report are being converted into a web-based
resource which will be announced soon, and work is starting on the next
profiles. These include extensions of the current profiles on access and
data description for integration, context, provenance / process models and
semantic mappings. Thanks to five new projects and interest from existing
and new partners, this work will go on in the context of an expanding
WorldFAIR+ initiative <https://worldfair-project.eu/worldfair-plus/> and a
number of active implementations. More on WorldFAIR+ soon!

The CDIF WG meets virtually every two weeks and collaborates online. The
focus of work will be on developing the new profiles, as well as renewing
the existing profiles based on feedback.

The CDIF AG meets 2-4 times a year, as required and receives profile
documentation to review.

To apply to join the WG or AG, please use this form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfC6BoxSnAZOMWZ65pNTiljnsBXjfv80NgEeALPcY5DPaESHA/viewform>
and
specify which group you wish to join!

If you simply want to keep up to date with developments, please register to
join the CDIF community list <https://bit.ly/cdif-community-list>.
